Halibut Fishing, Day 2

Cal went out on Friday. I had planned on taking the kids down to the beach to walk and watch the eagles, but woke up that morning to find that we would be washing bedsheets instead. By the time we finished what needed to be done, we had just enough time to enjoy an ice cream cone on the back porch of the office before the charter would be back. Emma's ice cream must've been inspiring. She gave us a little song and dance when she finished. Thomas wanted to know "what's wrong with her?" He just can't understand that not everyone thinks and acts the way he does.

Here come the fishermen......Daddy is in the Paddy Wagon. LOL

Nice catch.......only two are Cal's. (two per person is the limit)
He wanted to touch one so bad, then said it was "slimy."
You want me to touch it? He said it's slimy!
You can see the reflection of the fish hanging and the cleaning table in his glasses. I didn't plan that. Just noticed it afterwards when going through the pictures.

Back to the camper to vacum pack! Yummy!
After getting the halibut into the freezer, we drove down to the beach area. The old Russian village of Ninilchik is there at the mouth of the Ninilchik River.
They've done a good job of keeping up the old Orthodox church......
Not so much with other parts.......
Looks like people are living here today. There are a few signs of modern living, primitive as it may be...other than the truck. I wouldn't want to be the one in that house sticking off the hill.
