Kitty

Last Tuesday night, a week ago today, Kitty was breathing funny. It sounded kind of bubbly and raspy. She was definately uncomfortable. She kept laying down with her head in a certain position. If she put her head down, a few minutes later she would sit back up and hold her head up. The kids were already asleep. Cal and I were watching her, because we were sure she wasn't going to make it through the night. We finally went to bed and I lay there for a while crying and praying that she not be in pain and at least make it to Alaska for Thomas' sake. If you know Thomas and Kitty, they are inseperable. She is his security blanket. He's at the age now where he doesn't want to admit it outside of the family, but he is going to be devastated when she goes. She is 16 yrs old and showing it.

The next morning she seemed a little better and by evening, she was her old self if not better. Cal and I have been intently watching her. He has been feeding her tuna, because "she deserves it." :-)

  1. If you end up needing a vet for her, we used Ravenwood in Eagle River. They are worth the drive, believe me. We spent so much time there with our cat Hermione that they felt like extended family! They are GREAT!
