Honestly, I really wasn't ready to get back in the camper and it showed in our preparation. We waited until the last minute to get ready to go, and didn't bring the camper to the house before leaving. Cal had to go to some graduation function the night before, so we figured we'd just load the back of the truck and put it all in the camper when we got to Valdez. Not good. We had no pillows, 2 flat sheets, and had to buy a litter box when we got there. Ha Ha Cal and I used folded up towels for pillows, and the kids used nothing. We thought we'd fish from the pier in town, but it was closed. So, we had to go to a place called Alison Point. Not the most kid friendly place to fish. It's ok once you get down the embankment, but getting down there wasn't fun. Emma wasn't allowed to fish, because she smacked Matthew in the face during the ride over. (I'm sure in her mind she had a good reason.) We didn't catch any fish. There were lots of fish out there, but they were too far out to get from the shore.
Emma was explaining to Matthew how to get down, but he wasn't too sure......neither was Mom.

Had to sneak this one, since he still doesn't want any pictures of his hair.

Only Cal would be wearing sandals.

He was more interested in the water running over his boots than fishing. (No, we didn't get a dog, but this one sure liked getting tangled in Matthew's line.)

See the tongue? This is serious stuff.

Climbing the "big mountain."
View from the side of the big mountain.

View from the top of the big mountain- harbor.

Somewhere on the big mountain.

After that big climb, we needed ice cream.

He ate the bottom first!

After lunch, we went for another walk to a fish spawning viewing platform.

No fish. Wrong time of year.

Very determined she is going to see a fish.

Glacier outside of town.
Beaver hut outside of town.
You got some very good pictures. Everything looks so clean and clear about there! I want to go too!
